Cayo Arena from Santo Domingo

An early start from Santo Domingo, crossing the country by road to Punta Rucia on the northwest coast. From the pier a speedboat runs through the Estero Hondo mangroves out to Cayo Arena, a sandbank sitting in open water inside a coral reef. Snorkeling stops are made with gear included, followed by beach time and lunch before the drive back.
