Cayo Arena Day Trip from Puerto Plata

You leave Puerto Plata by road for Punta Rucia, at the western end of the north coast, then take a speedboat through the Estero Hondo mangroves out to Cayo Arena, a bare sandbank ringed by living coral reef. Two snorkeling stops are made with gear provided, followed by free time on the beach and lunch before heading back.
