Transfer from Puerto Plata to Damajagua, near Imbert. After hiking uphill through forest and river bed, you come back down the canyon by jumping from the rock ledges and sliding through natural chutes into turquoise pools. Helmet and life jacket are provided and a local guide leads the whole route; you need to swim and be reasonably fit.
